Reading time: 3 minutes
Let me be very honest with you; it has taken quite a long time for me to get here. But, now we are here.
By the time you finish reading this post, I would love for you to know a bit about the person behind the blog and at the same time I want to know you, yes you reading this!
Since we are starting off using with introductions, it would be a great idea to check out the About page of this blog, if you haven’t already done so. That way you’ll really know what this blog is about and what to expect from me.
In addition, my welcome email contains interesting bits about me that have not been included in the About page or in this post. So, get subscribing!
Who is MercyMime?
I’m grateful for the never-ending viral tags and of course the existence of Google; I was able to find questions for this tag from the YouTube Society website. There were originally 30 questions, but I have narrowed it down to only those questions that are applicable to me. For instance, I have no favourite animal and I am not fond of animals at all as I’m afraid of them.
In addition to the questions from the YouTube Society website, I also added a few interesting facts of my own. Altogether, here are 15 facts about me:
What are your names?
My name is Chioma. I don’t have any official middle name, but my unofficial middle names are Chikadibia (that’s the name my grandma used to call me) and Mercy (not your usual English name 🤷♀️🤷♀️).
Bad ass Chi
Where are you from?
I’m from the Eastern part of Nigeria. An Igbo girl to the core. Shout out to “umu Igbo di ka mu!” (translation: Igbo people like me).
What is your favourite colour
I don’t know if I have a favourite colour, to be honest. I cannot be bothered about a lot of things and this is one of them. However, if I must really choose I would most likely go for black.
How tall are you?
Just the average, about 5’8. I’m not exactly 5’8 but I’m not 5’7 either. So when people ask of my height I say I’m 5’8.
Are you in/have you gone to university?
Yes, I am a graduate of Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Hertfordshire💃💃💃Man!! it was not an easy time and I couldn’t wait to finish.
What was your favourite/worst subject in High School?
You’ll think I’m one of those kids that liked school, well I wasn’t. I went to school because I had to. So I did not have a favourite subject. Mind you though, I did well in assessments. My worst subjects were Maths, Further Maths and Physics.
What would you (or have you) name(d) your children?
I’ve never really given this a thought, so I don’t even know 🤷♀️ I do know that they’ll have an Igbo name.
In my element
What Sports do you play/have you played?
When I was younger, I did a lot of track and field- running, long jump, javelin. I also played football and netball for a bit in the sixth form. However, I had to give up sports due to injuries.
Who are some of your favourite YouTubers?
In no order, I love Patricia Bright, Jackie Aina, Dimmah Umeh, Omabelle I recently discovered my Igbo sisters Dyna Ekwueme, Ammychi and Nelo Okeke I love them too. With their personalities is just impossible not to love them.
What’s your idea of an ideal first date?
Something fun. I’m not picky at all. He doesn’t have to take me to the moon. Simple does it and I really won’t mind if it’s a movie, picnic, whatever. So long as it’s fun.
Do you speak different languages and how well?
I speak Igbo and English fluently. Igbo is my native language.
How would you describe your fashion sense?
Very simple. Does it look good? If it does then I’m happy! However, I tend to play it safe most of the time.
For the love of simple dressing
What is your favourite restaurant?
Currently, any good Turkish restaurant 😍 This is probably because I love meat a lot.
What phone do you have? (iOS v Android?)
iPhone SE (I need an upgrade). Well, not anymore, I finally got that upgrade. I have the iPhone XR now. Levels don change! (translation: levels have changed).
Tell us one of your bad habits
I can save a nation by talking 😂😂😂 yes, I said it! (is that a bad habit though? I don’t know but I mean if I can save a nation from talking that would be nice wouldn’t it?).
I’m also very outspoken, maybe too outspoken and sometimes I tend to hurt people’s feelings. But on the bright side, I’m that friend you can come to for an honest answer.
Lastly, I am really bad with replying messages and sometimes when I can be bothered to reply, I tend to be abrupt. My friends always tell me off for this and if I’m being honest, most times I don’t understand what the issue is 🙈🙈🙈.
